So what’s this DoIT thing that Jason keeps carping on? Who am I supposed to call? Well kids, here’s the skinny, courtesy of an informed viewer who left this valuable package in the comments section. Thank you informed citizen!
For those who are concerned about the future of SCAN-TV, and public access television in general, I would contact Bill Schrier and Tony Perez and CTTAB (The Citizens’ Telecommunications and Technology Advisory Board) and let them know that you think SCAN-TV has done a good job providing a voice to the community. If you feel as I do, let them know that you disapprove of their sudden efforts to defund public access. Tell Tony Perez that you believe that public access is EXACTLY what the franchise fees should be paying for. Tell them you think SCAN-TV should retain ownership of the facilities. Let them know you are WATCHING them. Public out cry is our one and only weapon at this point, so let’s use it deftly.
So here are the numbers and emails you want to concentrate on, (highlight your choice, command+C is copy, command+V is paste)

The Real Garden TV show on SCAN TV is a treasure. The narrator explains his gardening philosophy and techniques in clear language and it is extremely well documented. This show is very useful for my classroom.
The explanations are perfect for my special ed students, all of whom love going out to the garden.
I love this show.
Ah, Judy, that’s so sweet of you. I hope you CC’d this message to all of our council members, CTTAB members, and the Dept of Information Technology. Get a hold of me by the yahoo email address and I’ll send you some seeds or arrange a special presentation or something- anything for the kids and their noble mentors. I am heartened to hear that someone is actually getting something out of my ramblings. Thank you for letting me know.
